Another 2013 highlight release from Lucy (check out Half High).
I’ll have copies of these here this week
Just found out about this today after revisiting the first Naked On The Vague LP, really enjoying these traxSource:
I’ve been keeping a list of every record I buy in 2013, and most of the records I’ve bought this year have been older. I’ve been keeping up with punk/hardcore and electronic music, but a lot of what I’ve been excited about has been “hyped,” for lack of a better term.
A working draft of my favorite albums of 2013:
Autre Ne Veut - Anxiety
Black Flag - What The…
Dawn of Midi - Dysnomia
Hoax - s/t
Alexander Lewis - A Luminous Veil
Pharmakon - Abandon
Purling Hiss - Water On Mars
Ron Morelli - Spit
Wolf Eyes - No Answer: Lower Floors
What else do I need to hear?
If the music isn’t your cup of tea, the hustle of Kid Rock was super real and his story is VERY hip-hop for those of you perpetual adolescents who still care about that kind of shit. Another classic Grand Royal moment. Enjoy.
Yes wow so much rare history in this piece from rocking linear tracking turntables on Electrifying Mojo to sharing studio space with Awesome Dre and Prince Vince to tripping balls in Jersey City with Melle Mel to running guitars directly into an MPC-60. Kid Rock is hip-hop as fuck.
It’s a good enough interview that I’m even willing to look past the ridiculous second paragraph about Midwestern rap or the part where Rock calls Poor Righteous Teachers “faggot motherfuckers” and “Poor Righteous Creatures,” which I assume is just him being an insecure whiteboy.
